Hundreds turn up for E.C job interviews in Mbale

Over 700 people turned up for Electoral Commission job interviews to work as display officers in preparation for the 2021 elections. The interviews were held at Mbale ss main hall on the 12th February 2020.

According to Mbale District Returning Officer Mr. Rebero Charles, they received 780 applications but only 742 people turned up for the interviews.

“The display officers are to start working on the 19th of February 2020 and they are to display the voters’ register for 21days and the voters are required to go and check their names in the register.” He Said

Mr. Rebero said that this is one of the most important electoral processes and urged all voters in Mbale to respond to this positively.

The display exercise is to take place at only gazetted polling stations in Mbale district.

“The district has 560 polling stations and each is to have 1 display officer.” He concluded
